Impax Asset Management selects ICS to unify investment data and accelerate its AI strategy

ICS is pleased to announce that Impax Asset Management (Impax), a specialist investment manager focused on the transition to a more sustainable economy, has selected the ATHENA Investment Data Platform as its strategic investment data management and analytics solution.
The strategic implementation has two equally important dimensions: unifying Impax’s multi-source investment data environment into a single, governed source of truth, and laying the data foundation needed to help execute its AI strategy.
Impax’s decision to implement ATHENA reflects a deliberate investment in infrastructure that ensures data quality, governance, and analytical capability scale with the firm’s ambitions.
ICS will implement ATHENA to consolidate Impax’s core investment data domains into a centralised, auditable hub — unifying positions, transactions, sustainability data, pricing, and reference data across the full breadth of Impax’s data provider landscape.

Beyond the core data platform, Impax will gain access to ATHENA MCP — ICS’s secure bridge between ATHENA and AI assistants. ATHENA MCP enables investment and operations teams to query their live, governed data in plain language, with every interaction logged, traceable, and read-only. All queries run within Impax’s own single-tenant Azure environment; no data leaves that environment or is used to train external models.
For a firm whose work spans complex sustainability datasets, multi-custodian positions, and a growing fund-of-funds structure, this represents a meaningful evolution in how Impax’s investment and operations teams will work.
